Terms & intellectual property

Version 1.1, in force from 16 September 2026. First published 19 August 2026. These are the operative terms on which DATANEM LIMITED provides the service.

Who owns this service

Datanem is designed, written, owned and operated by DATANEM LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under number 16870006, whose registered office is at 8 Court View, Clowne, Chesterfield, England, S43 4BU. © 2026 DATANEM LIMITED. All rights reserved.

What is protected

All source code, database designs, prompts, extraction logic, interface designs, text, graphics and documentation that make up this service are original works owned by DATANEM LIMITED and first published on 19 August 2026. They are protected by copyright under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and the corresponding law of every other Berne Convention country. No licence is granted to copy, adapt, reverse engineer, redistribute or create derivative works from any part of them.

Trade marks

The Datanem name, logo and wordmark are unregistered trade marks of DATANEM LIMITED and have been used in trade since 19 August 2026. Using them, or a confusingly similar sign, in connection with competing services is passing off and will be treated as such.

What you own

You keep every right in the documents you upload and in the structured data extracted from them. DATANEM LIMITED claims no ownership over your content and does not use it to train models. Your rights over your own data are set out in the privacy notice.

Databases you choose to keep

A saved design can be turned into a database that accumulates: every batch you run against it adds to the same store, and the values read out of your documents are kept until you delete them rather than expiring with the files they came from. That happens only on your instruction, which we record with the date you gave it, and you can withdraw it, empty the database or delete it outright at any time. You remain the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf. Each plan has a ceiling on how many documents one database may hold; a batch that reaches it still finishes, and the limit applies to the next upload.

What you may not do

You may not resell, sublicense or white-label the service, scrape or benchmark it in order to build a competing product, attempt to extract the prompts or schema-inference logic, or bypass usage limits, rate limits or billing. Automated access is permitted only through the documented API.

Acceptable use

You confirm you have a lawful basis to upload every document you process and that you hold any consent required from the people described in it. Accounts used for unlawful content may be suspended without refund.

Cancelling, and your rights as a consumer

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep the allowance you have already paid for until the end of the period. There is no contract and no notice period. If you are buying as an individual rather than in the course of a business, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 additionally give you 14 days from the day you order to change your mind. At checkout you ask us to begin straight away, so if you cancel inside those 14 days we refund what you paid less the proportion of your allowance you have already used. Email hello@datanem.com to cancel, and the refund is made to the card you paid with.

Service, liability and refunds

The service is provided as it stands, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Extraction is performed by AI models and output should be checked before it is relied upon for a decision that matters. Liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, which cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
