When Parseur is the better choice

Your documents arrive by email. Parseur's free tier includes unlimited mailboxes. Datanem has email intake too, but only from the Starter plan at £9 a month upwards, so for an email-first workflow on no budget Parseur wins outright.

You want no-code delivery into other tools. Parseur publishes Google Sheets sync and real-time delivery through Zapier, Make, Power Automate and n8n. Datanem has an API and an MCP server, which is a different kind of answer and a worse one if you do not write code.

You want longer retention without paying. Parseur's free tier holds documents for 90 days. Datanem's free plan holds them for 30.

Your documents are genuinely one page each. Paying per page is the cheaper model when every file is a single page, and Parseur's free 20 pages a month goes further than it sounds in that case.

When Datanem is the better choice

Your documents are long. Parseur states plainly that a three-page PDF costs three credits, and that a credit is a page. Datanem charges one document as one document whatever its length, up to 20 pages on Free and 150 on Max. A 30-page statement is one document here and 30 credits there.

You want the free allowance measured in documents. Datanem's free plan is 20 documents on signup then 10 a month, and on Free each of those may run to 20 pages. Parseur's free tier is 20 pages a month in total.

You do not want unused credit to evaporate. Parseur states that unused credits expire at the end of each billing period. Datanem's monthly allowance resets the same way, but the signup grant and anything you buy or earn is held as credit that does not expire.

You want the output as a real database. Datanem's SQL export comes with primary keys, foreign keys and indexes so linked tables stay linked. Parseur does not advertise a SQL export.
