Comparison
Datanem and Nanonets, compared
These two are not really aimed at the same buyer, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. Nanonets sells workflow automation to organisations with a compliance function: SAML single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, role-based access control, SOC 2, HIPAA, private cloud and on-premise deployment, audit logs and SIEM.
Datanem does one thing. It turns a pile of documents into a structured database and gives it back to you as Excel, CSV or SQL. If the list in the paragraph above contains something you actually need, stop reading and go to Nanonets, because Datanem does not have any of it.
No account needed for the first one. 20 documents free when you sign up, then 10 a month at no cost, for as long as you want it.

When Nanonets is the better choice
You have a security questionnaire to answer. Nanonets publishes SAML SSO, SCIM, role-based access control, HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance, audit logs and SIEM integration at its Enterprise tier. Datanem has none of these and is not currently SOC 2 or HIPAA certified.
You need the software inside your own infrastructure. Nanonets offers private cloud and on-premise deployment. Datanem is software as a service on Cloudflare and cannot be deployed into your estate.
You need more than extraction. Nanonets publishes document classification, barcode and signature detection, generative AI blocks, custom Python blocks and connectors for Salesforce, SAP and Oracle. Datanem extracts and exports. It does not classify, route or orchestrate.
You want a vendor with an account manager and an SLA. Nanonets sells that. Datanem is a small company and sells a product.
When Datanem is the better choice
You want a monthly free allowance rather than a starting balance. Nanonets gives every new account $50 in credits which do not expire, but there is no recurring free allowance underneath it. When the $50 is gone it is gone. Datanem gives 20 documents on signup and then 10 every month, indefinitely.
The entry price matters. Nanonets publishes $100 a month for 100 credits after the starting balance. Datanem's Starter plan is £9 a month for 75 documents.
You want to know the per-document cost in advance. Nanonets prices per block run, at $0.02 for simple operations, $0.10 for standard AI and $0.30 for complex AI, and states that a typical invoice workflow runs four to six blocks, which it summarises as under $2 per invoice. Datanem's pay-as-you-go rate is 20p per document, whatever happens inside it.
You want your data in the EU without buying Enterprise. Nanonets lists data residency across US, EU and APAC as an Enterprise tier feature. Datanem stores files and extracted data in the EU on every plan including the free one.
You want SQL with the schema written for you. Datanem's SQL export includes primary keys, foreign keys and indexes. Nanonets advertises ERP and database integrations at its Growth tier, which is a different thing: a way to write into a database you already run, rather than a schema handed to you.
Questions
- Is Datanem a replacement for Nanonets?
- For extraction and export, often yes. For everything Nanonets does around that, no. If you are using classification, routing, approval workflows, SSO or on-premise deployment, Datanem does not have equivalents and switching would cost you those features.
- How do the prices compare?
- As published on 8 September 2026, Nanonets lists $100 a month for 100 credits and Datanem lists £9 a month for 75 documents. Nanonets also publishes per-block rates and gives its own worked example of under $2 per invoice end to end. Datanem's pay-as-you-go rate is 20p per document.
- Can I keep my data in the EU with either?
- Nanonets lists data residency choices across US, EU and APAC as an Enterprise feature, so it depends on your tier. Datanem stores files and extracted data in the EU on every plan, including the free one, and never uses them to train models.
- Is Nanonets more accurate?
- We have not run a head-to-head benchmark and will not claim one either way. Both let you try before paying. Run your own documents, particularly the ugly ones, and judge on that rather than on anybody's marketing page including ours.
